Lorenzo Doumani has always been a bit of a rebel … and not just because he’s a native Las Vegan. The son of Las Vegas pioneer Edward Doumani, Lorenzo was immersed in the hospitality and development business from an early age, working every conceivable job at his family’s iconic El Morocco and La Concha Motels, designed by legendary architect Paul Revere Williams. In addition to learning the hospitality business from the ground up, he had a front row seat to the development process on the Tropicana and Golden Nugget, carefully studying and learning from such visionaries as Jay Sarno of Caesars Palace and Circus Circus, and Steve Wynn, his father Edward’s former business partner.

After graduating high school, Lorenzo moved to California to attend USC, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, he enrolled at Loyola Law School. After less than a year, he realized law school was not for him and moved to New York. There he worked as a producer on the Francis Ford Coppola directed film “The Cotton Club.” Next, Lorenzo headed back to Hollywood where he wrote, produced, and directed a series of low budget feature films, including “Mad About You,” “Amore” (HBO), “Follow Your Heart” (Lifetime), “Storybook” (Fox Family), and “Knockout” (theatrically released).

In 2000, he formed Majestic Resorts to redevelop the Las Vegas strip property on which the La Concha and El Morocco sat. As CEO of Majestic, he completed plans, entitlements, and funding on the proposed $650 million Waldorf Astoria condominium hotel. In October 2007, he sold the fully entitled project to developer Triple 5 for $180 million.
